Stone walls, terracotta tones and wide-open views set the scene as you arrive at Villa Grigoris I, a generous three-storey retreat set on the edge of the traditional village of Emprosneros in Crete’s Apokoronas region. Designed for large families or groups of friends, the villa balances the character of a rural setting with thoughtfully arranged spaces that invite everyone to gather, relax and unwind at their own pace.

Step inside and the sense of space is immediate. Exposed stonework and timber ceilings frame the main living area, where comfortable sofas gather around a fireplace and a large Smart TV, creating a welcoming spot for cooler evenings. The adjoining kitchen is fully equipped for shared cooking, with a dining table ideal for everyday meals and leisurely breakfasts. Two bedrooms on this level offer flexibility for mixed-age groups, sharing a sleek shower room close by.

Upstairs, each floor feels almost like a private wing. The first floor bedrooms open onto balconies and feature king-size beds, ensuite bathrooms with bathtubs and sofa beds that make hosting extended family easy without compromising comfort. The top floor continues this theme with two further ensuite bedrooms, each with its own balcony and shower room, offering quieter corners and elevated views across the surrounding countryside.

Outside, life naturally flows towards the heated swimming pool, its blue surface catching the light throughout the day. Sun loungers line the terrace, while shaded pergolas create pockets of calm for reading or afternoon naps. The outdoor kitchen is a true focal point, complete with a large dining table, barbecue facilities and a traditional wood stove, making long evenings of shared meals effortless. Beyond the terraces, landscaped gardens and open space offer room for yoga, meditation or simply soaking up the calm of this rural corner of Chania.
