A long private drive leads towards La Maison Mérigou, a traditional country home surrounded by fields, woodland, an orchard and glorious rural views. With no immediate neighbours, the sense of space and calm is immediate, making it an ideal setting for guests seeking time together in complete privacy.

Inside, character features bring warmth and authenticity to every room. Exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings frame generous living spaces designed for both relaxation and gathering. The kitchen creates a natural hub for shared meals, while the separate living and dining room, centred around a fireplace, invites slower evenings indoors. A dedicated TV room and additional chill out space upstairs ensure younger guests have their own areas to unwind. Four queen-size bedrooms are thoughtfully arranged across both floors – the two upstairs bedrooms feature air conditioning for comfort during warmer months.

Outdoors, life unfolds at an easy pace. Large front and rear gardens stretch towards surrounding countryside, while the orchard offers seasonal apples, plums and pears straight from the trees. Days are often spent beside the private swimming pool, with its sun terrace and loungers perfectly positioned for long afternoons under clear skies. An al-fresco dining and barbecue area set the scene for relaxed evening meals, while hammocks sway gently in the garden.

The setting combines rural seclusion with easy access to local life. The village of Cancon is just a short drive away for fresh bread, groceries and a morning coffee, while the historic bastide towns of Monflanquin and Villeréal offer lively markets and well-regarded restaurants. Villeneuve-sur-Lot provides a wider range of shops along with river activities, and Bergerac, only 45 minutes by car, brings vineyards, cultural events and a beautifully preserved old town by the banks of the Dordogne River.

For guests looking to reconnect in nature while enjoying space, comfort and authentic character, La Maison Mérigou offers a setting where days unfold effortlessly and evenings linger long into the night.
